Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

Course Content

  • 1- and 2-rescuer child CPR and AED use
  • 1- and 2-rescuer infant CPR
  • Cardiac, respiratory and shock case discussions and simulations
  • Key changes in pediatric advanced life support, reflecting the new science from the 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
  • Management of respiratory emergencies
  • Resuscitation team concept
  • Rhythm disturbances and electrical therapy
  • Systematic Approach to Pediatric Assessment
  • Vascular access

The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.

Continuing Education can be provided for Nurses and Paramedics

This Course takes up to 6 hours

You can add a BLS Challenge and receive your BLS card the same day as your PALS card. In order to challenge the BLS course and receive a BLS for Healthcare Providers card, the student must have a current (non-expired) BLS card. There will be no BLS instruction, only the skills that are not performed in the PALS class and the BLS written exam.

Take the classroom portion of the course online, then just schedule a skills testing session (30-45 mins.) with one of our instructors, and receive the same card you would receive in the traditional classroom course.
